Kelly Adams, who plays the glamorous sexy scam artist Emma Kennedy in BBC1’s Hustle, had just finished filming season six and was in for her well-deserved Christmas holiday tan. Season six of Hustle has just kicked off on our screens - for those of you who may have missed the opening, Kelly did a rather excellent Kylie Minogue scam where viewers were treated to a glimpse of her amazingly toned and tanned pins! Very jealous!!
Preparation for tanned bodies for 2010 has started and already the year ahead is looking very busy! My first mission is tanning Rupert Friend for his first west end debut. He recently appeared in hit films Pride and Prejudice, The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas and starring alongside Michelle Pfeiffer in the 2009 film Cheri. The reason for his latest tan, apart from to look fabulous of course, is for The Little Dog Laughed which is opening on the 20th January at the Garrick Theatre London.
Next mission is to tan the entire cast for Strictly Come Dancing The Live Tour 2010 which kicks off this week in Manchester. The hit BBC1 television show gathers contestants from past and present to don their gowns and dance shoes once again. The line up of contestants includes Kelly Brook, Zoe Lucker, Natalie Cassady and Ali Bastian with Darren Bennett, Lilia Kopylova and Kristina Rihanoff who I’ve already tanned for Strictly. As beautiful, barely there costumes are the order of the day, the tan is a vital accessory when carrying out those skilful routines! Of course we need to keep the continuity of beautiful tanned skin over the next 3 months and the spray tan is by far the best option. The brand new product Tan Detox will be absolutely essential for dancers and contestants having regular tanning treatments. Using the Tan Detox bath oil will be a pampering treat after all that dancing and when the skin is gently rubbed with the exfoliating cloth, any self tan build up will simply disappear. Tan Detox returns skin to its normal tone, ready for fresh application the next day, which makes spray tanning much simpler and the results even better. Already having been featured in Grazia, More and InStyle, Tan Detox is set to be the must-have beauty product for 2010.
Very exciting event is the upcoming BRIT awards 2010!! I’ll be working backstage to tan everyone before the big night. This is a massive highlight of the job and it will be televised live on Tuesday 16th February. The nominations will be announced on Monday 18th January so this will give us an insight into who will be needing a bit of enhancing!
London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2010 kicks off in February too. It only seems like I just did the Spring/Summer 2010 shows the other week! With hundreds of models requiring skin finishing treatments I know that it is going to be HECTIC! Working backstage at the SS10 shows, I picked up that nude, ice cream pastels and white shades are going to featured in all the key looks for Summer, along with thigh and bottom skimming bloomers!! Girls, we are going to need a bronze glow to work this look. British designer Louise Goldin, who we work closely with at all her shows, is launching her super studded spiked shoes for TopShop in February. I got to see these for myself at the last show - they are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! the TopShop ones are a slightly toned down version but are truly fantastic - I will definitely be buying a few pairs!
So that’s the start of 2010 for me - I can feel it’s going to be even busier than the last.
