A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, 11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 1020 E. Phila. Ave., Gilbertsville. Visitation will be from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

Nora S. Manwiller, 89, formerly of Boyertown |
Nora S. (Fronheiser) Manwiller, 89, wife of the late Arthur G. Manwiller, formerly of Boyertown, passed away on Friday at the Lutheran Home in Topton. Born in Exeter Township, she was the daughter of the late Milton Weidner and Sallie (Spohn) Weidner. Nora had a great love of animals and was the proud owner of numerous dogs and cats. Nora also enjoyed dancing and walking with the Boyertown Area Senior Center and was often, along with her sister Cora, a winner of their annual walk for fitness challenge. Nora graduated, in 1957, from the former Bryland Beauty School in Reading, Pa. and at one time owned Nora’s Beauty Salon which was located on North Reading Avenue in Boyertown. Surviving are daughters Diane Koenig and Jolene Kiernan; twin sister Cora Schaeffer; grandchildren Heather, Thomas and Jonathan Ervin, Tracie Hutchinson and Kevin and Emily Kiernan; and great grandchildren Jewel Ervin and Joshua Hutchinson. Along with her husband and parents, Nora is predeceased by her daughter Tina Manwiller.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 24th, 11:30AM at Hill Church Cemetery, Boyertown. |
I am so sorry to hear of Nora's passing. I rented from her awhile ago. She was a wonderful person and I thought of her often after moving away. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

Dorothy W. “Dottie” Bealer, 83, wife of W. Oliver Bealer of 62 years, of Pottstown, passed away on Friday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late Edward G. and Margaret L. (Levengood) Wentzel. Dottie was a graduate of Pottstown High School in 1944 and later attended Pottstown Business School. She worked as a customer service representative for the former Security Trust Co. then the former Continental Bank both in Pottstown. Dottie was a member of Coventry Church of the Brethren where she was a retired deaconess, helped as a Sunday school teacher and served on several church committees. She was also a member of the Pottstown Women’s Christian Club and Pottstown Cluster of Churches. Surviving with her husband are daughters Kathy L. Anderson of New York and Bonnie K. Bealer of Philadelphia. Along with her parents she is predeceased by her sister Alice W. Fisher. A funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, 11:00Am at Coventry Church of the Brethren, 946 Keen Road, Pottstown with Rev. Sandford J. Cristophel officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 9:30AM to 11:00Am at the church.

H. Richard “Dick” Yergey, 84, of Pottstown, North Coventry Twp., passed away on Saturday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Birdsboro, he was the son of the late Raymond A. and Bertha A. (Miller) Yergey. Richard was a US Navy veteran serving in WWII as a radio man and will be buried with military honors. He was a member of ST. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pottstown, a life member of the NORCO Fire Co., the German Club , and the Quoit Club all in Pottstown. Dick had a passion for sports. He was presented with a lifetime pass with the OJR football “chain gang” where he helped for many years. He was also a member of the Bucktown Boosters and was an El Chico Kid. He is survived by his daughter Susan E. Swartz, son Edward R. Yergey, sister C. Irene Houser, grandchildren Teresa E. West, Amanda M. Swartz, and Carl R. Swartz, and 5 great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by 2 sisters and 3 brothers and will be sadly missed by his family. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, 11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown with Rev. Susan Folks officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:30AM to 10:45AM at the funeral home.
